🌎 International students often choose to study in Canada because tuition rates are much lower than in other developed countries like the United States or the United Kingdom. In addition, Canada offers high-quality education, and students can complete their degrees in both English and French. According to recent statistics, over 350,000 international students are studying in Canada, making it the seventh-most popular destination for international students worldwide.

💵 These 10 Canadian universities have the lowest tuition fees for international students, based on data from the Canadian government for the 2021-2022 academic year.  In order of cheapest to most expensive, they are:

  1. The University of Regina,
  2. The University of Manitoba,
  3. The Memorial University of Newfoundland,
  4. The University of Windsor,
  5. The University of Victoria,
  6. The University of New Brunswick,
  7. The University of Toronto,
  8. Lakehead University,
  9. McGill University,
  10. McMaster University.

All these schools have tuition fees for international students under $30,000 CAD per year.  Regina, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Windsor, and Victoria have the lowest tuition fees, at less than $20,000 CAD per year.

The cost of living also needs to be considered when choosing a university.  Many students choose to live in larger cities because there are more job opportunities, but this usually means higher rents.  According to Numbeo, the cost of living in Toronto is 42% higher than the Canadian average, while the cost of living in Vancouver is 48% higher.  In contrast, the cost of living in Windsor is only 8% higher than the Canadian average, and the cost of living in Regina is actually 5% lower than the average.
